Those who are from the science background have definitely heard the term spontaneous process and entropy in thermodynamics.Law says that the decrease in energy or increase in entropy of the system makes the process spontaneous,i.e the process which can occur on its own. For instance take your example, what do you think is more easier, not  doing anything, relaxing and wasting your time or working hard ,trying to build your career​???? obviously we all know what the answer is!!
